Katharine Ley

Katharine Ley is a British cellist based in Newark, Nottinghamshire, offering a varied and accomplished performance career spanning solo recitals, orchestral work and private events. Trained at the Royal Northern College of Music — where she graduated with a First — and with earlier studies at the Royal Birmingham Junior Conservatoire, Katharine has also benefited from private tuition with internationally renowned cellists Raphael Wallfisch, Felix Schmidt and Petr Prause. As a soloist, she has performed the Elgar Cello Concerto with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, Karl Jenkins' Benedictus with Baslow Choir, and given recitals at prestigious venues including the Worksop Concert Series. During her youth, Katharine won seats in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. She performs on a Betts School Cello (c. 1790) — a genuinely rare instrument — paired with a John Clutterbuck bow. Available for weddings and events nationwide.
